: Jo asked: So, for the trivia question: at what point did one of those two "bedrolls" go a-missing? Good-luck!
: Hmmm...never thought about it. Good question! Would it by any chance have been when Uncas dives out of the canoe, during
: the chase scene? That's all I can think of , unless he lays it down in the cave, before going up on "watch." I'm trying to play it in my mind, and those are the only times that come to my mind where I can *almost* picture him taking something off. (somehow, I seem to remember Hawkeye shouldering his as he starts up the mountainside after shooting Duncan.)
: I could be all wet, though!
I apologize for the delay. Defending my status took a bit longer than I had anticipated. (Wish I had spell check on this!) Anyway, you are not all wet yet, just damp. Close but no wampun.
It wasn't when Uncas dived out of the canoe (how does one get into a moving canoe from a lake without turning the canoe over anyway.... all those persons out there who have done this I would love to know if possible or just "Hollywood"....a technical question for sure...)(did you notice that when the group came running down the bank to the canoes that Uncas got into the lead/front position of the canoe with I believe Alice behind him, then our great soldier#1, Cora and Dad, while Hawkeye was still approaching the canoe; then in the next scene Hawkeye was in the lead of the canoe, Alice and Uncas, etc. Guess Uncas got very good at moving around racing canoes...)However, I do stray from the trivia question at hand..... the lake/canoes shoved over the falls is not the place where the bed roll went on a walk-about, as far as I have been able to see. (This is to cover me in the case that someone has better eyes than I or has watched LOTM more than I). Only one bedroll made it into the cave; indeed, Hawkeye and Uncas take turns carrying it to the Indian Village scene. You may want to watch the movie in that this is a very fine point (notice I did not make this part of my question). Happy Canoeing!
