Prequel or Sequel?

If a prequel were to be done, it looks to me that our threesome knows their way around the colonies, have been in a few forts, encountered other war parties as well as saving idiots in the forest. Or, in a sequel, he could join the fighting as a ranger and Cora could follow along ( typical thing to do). She could get captured by the French and we could see Montcalm again. Chingachcook could go on to become a
sachem and have some more little Mohicans (after all Russel Means and Wes Studi have young children now) and there would be an opportunity for a good Indian woman character. Wes Studi would have to be in it either way. He could be another formidable foe or a formidable friend. (I prefer foe so we can enjoy his warrior spirit). He could be Shingas if they operated around the forks of the Ohio.
