After I read the recently added "Under the Falls" section of the script, I was taken back to the movie (I got to watch it again last night after a long depravation). I read the part about Cora's hair being cut because ya'll were talking about it. The thing that struck me, though, was the action between Uncas and Alice that was scripted. It says that Uncas looks at Alice before he goes over the falls. I think that this "look" that Uncas gives Alice and her reaction could have helped make the relationship between the two stand out more, especially because of the inclusion of the scene where he grabs her before she throws herself over the falls and holds her tight in a slow-moed (Sp) shot of the two.
That kind of look and the brevity involved (because the acting was superb anyway) couldn't have been THAT hard to shoot.

Food for thought, maybe Mann didn't include the love scene (that was obviously shot;}!) because perhaps Jodhi's Mom didn't know about it? If that was the case, he may have been afraid of the repercutions of leaving such a scene in, being that she was a minor. I say this because I read that for SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO AND JULIET that Clare Danes had to be clothed for the love scene because she was a minor and Dicaprio was over 18.
Any thoughts?
