Rich, I too hope for some kind of discourse. I'd like to clear a few things: 1st, I never accused you of interjecting your own feelings of racism into the article, what I got from your commentary was what to me sounded as if you felt Eric was attacking non~Indians. The 2 movies Dances... & LOTM you pointed out are 2 movies far & few in between to represent the vast & varied culture of all Indian nations.

2nd when Eric spoke of the Six Nations, it could've been the interviewers error in writing, for Eric probably meant 6 clans (Turtle, Wolf...) of which there are with varying dialects.

As for the Means quote on hair, it could've been said jokingly. I don't know what he meant.

Lastly, how am I contradicting myself in my statement about attacking non~Indians? I felt your commentary was somehow making Eric against non~Indians, if anything, I can admit to having made a presumption & misunderstanding some of your words, which you took as being accused of feelings of racism & I never made that my intention.
