Bill, you should have been here when we only had a couple of posts a WEEK! Ask Mike & Marcia!

That was an incredible outburst of hilarious posts this past week. Talk about spontaneous combustion! The Board resembled a live Chat ... it was impressive! Speaking of Chats ... the Chat Room now has a link on the Mohican Musings Index page ... hopefully, you'll all be able to find it when needed now. The thought has periodically entered my mind of doing away with the Board ... at times the hassles of dealing with rude visitors made it a chore. Not to worry! The fresh banter, the good-natured liveliness of this week (similar to that which followed the network airing of LOTM back in August) cemented the notion in me that the BOARD STAYS! Thank you all for the solid stream of belly-achin' laughs! Due to the ever-growing size of the Board, despite our meager attempts at keeping it trimmed, we will have to do a MAJOR cleaning, probably in a week or so. If there are any favorite little posts you just have to have, please print them out, as we can't promise they'll still be there come the New Year.

At the risk of sounding a bit sentimental, the nature of the beast is this (regarding the Mohican Gathering) ... It seems it would be a shame for us all to go through life without meeting each other at least once. There probably won't be all that many opportunities, what with people coming from as far away as FINLAND! I think this week's posts proved that we all have some kind of bizarre bond and that a week-end together in MohicanLand would be a lot of fun! It is going to happen, the wheels are turning, it's only a matter of how many will actually arrive. So, in your spare moments during the Holidays, make the decision! Are you going to be there? (Families, of course, ARE welcome!) The two week-ends being considered are the 20/21 & the 27/28 of June '98. Though it appears at this time leanings are to the former date, consider that that includes Father's Day. Marcia is working on hotels, etc. Remember that cheaper lodging can probably be had outside of Lake Lure/Chimney Rock. Also, though the first day is set at Chimney Rock, the second is open to suggestion, though at the moment a tour of the sites in and around Linville Gorge seems to be the choice (that would include The Ambush, The Fort, and more). Should enough commit soon, we will talk to the local theatres about a showing of LOTM on Saturday night. So, start the New Year with that decision!

New Stuff? More photos on the "Under The Make-Up Tent" page & Mark Baker tells more on his page. Sorry, he cuts off RIGHT at the good part! With a 2-week vacation, we'll have to be patient to hear of his relationship with DDL. We, too, will probably slow it down a notch over the next 10 days, but we'll try to have something new next week for you.

We are going to pursue an interview with Eric Schweig, and, hopefully some kind of input from Michael Mann, but, of course, those things are not completely in our hands. We thank you all for sticking with us & for your continued input here on the Board. Be sure you all stay safe during these Holidays! Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
