Ok, I know what everyone is saying, "Titanic? On the Mohicans board?" Its off the subject but it is a historical romance film of the same genre as LOTM so I am curious what others think. I have seen it twice already and I think it is pretty fantastic. I went to it the first time with low expectations, not a Leonardo Di Caprio fan, but like many people very interested in the tragedy of the Titanic . I was very surprised how moving this movie was and by the end the fictional story of the two young lovers had won me over. I even enjoyed Di Caprio's performance. The stunning sinking of that fantastic ship really conveys the horrors of those doomed people. So what do you say? Can other lovers of historical romance films, I know some must frequent this board, give me some opinions on this film?

Also I am going to provide a tie in to LOTM to try to keep this relevant. In 1979 a made for TV film called "SOS Titanic" aired. Until Cameron's recent version that film was the best Titanic film ever made with David Jansen as JJ Astor and Cloris Leachman as the Unsinkable Molly Brown. It also had Maurice Roeves, our own Colonel Munro, in a supporting role. (There is the tie-in to LOTM.) Now to tie LOTM and SOS Titanic with "Titanic." Here it is: David Warner, a British actor who was such films as "Time After Time," "Cross of Iron," and the best film version of "A Christmas Carol" ever done, the version with George C. Scott, was the one of the lead characters in SOS Titanic. He has a supporting role in the new "Titanic" as evil Billy Zane's valet/bodyguard. The man is making a career on Titanic films. So there you have it a conection with LOTM through Maurice Roeves in SOS Titanic and David Warner in the recent version of Titanic. Pretty strained but a connection is there. I don't know if this is enough to stave off deletion.
