About Joseph Brandt..the ironic thing about Lotm and this figure is that Uncas uttered the lines about Joseph Brandt, and then he became Joseph Brandt in "Broken Chain" (seven degrees of separation?) But to learn more about Joseph Brandt is VERY interesting!
I saw THE MIDWIFE'S TAIL on our public station last month; they had some very interesting shots of how period clothes were put on; how the families all slept, etc. within the context of the story, the period was just after our LOTM movie, more like just before the turn of the century, (1800's) (or is my gggg brain faltering on me); but it was a great tale, and may help you with your period clothes.
