: Well, NOT to start a locations war, but ... Soldier #2 is correct. Those 3 locations DID comprise the scene as it appears on film. However, scenes WERE shot, as Elaine says, at a location which never made it to the screen ... at least for THIS scene. That is up along the Nolichuky River. It was actually Michael Mann's FIRST choice, originally, to do this scene there. They shot it, in the whitewater, using stuntman. Carolina Wilderness Expeditions helped with the canoes & guided the crew through the rapids. We have this on the authority of Carolina Wilderness, Michael Bigham (the locations manager), and no less an authority than Michael Mann. So, both Elaine & Eric are correct!

I forgot. I remember them telling me about that now. It was a just a trial if I remember correctly. Sorry about that.
