N. Carolina Novel

I was wondering if any of you LOTM fans have read the novel "Cold Mountain" by Charles Frazier? It's racing up the best seller list and is set, for the most part, in the mountains of Western N. Carolina. It's a wonderful book and I encourage you to give it a try. Also, I just leared that the screen rights have been purchased by Anthony Minghella, the director of "The English Patient". Sounds like the filming of another great epic might be heading for our hosts' backyard!
