: : : There is an uncut version out there. When LOTM first came out I saw the pre-movie movie. It was loong and it had all the scenes you guys have mentioned. When I saw the current version, I couldn't believe how much was cut. The original is really beautiful and flows much more smoothly than the final version. I tried to get the uncut version from Blockbuster. They have it listed, but with a notation that says that the producer won't release it. So I guess we need to keep pursuing the matter.

: : : P.S. Sorry I'm so " mouthy" today! I'm making up for all the lurking time I spent reading your musings and not responding.

: : Hi Ros,

: : How were you able to see the pre-movie movie? Could we bribe the guy at Blockbuster?:) I once bribed the manager at Roger's Video with donuts to get the trailer..and it worked!!!

: Rebecca:
: Trust me if I could have gotten a copy of the original with bribery I would have done it. I wrote evryone I could think of, sent E-Mails, even tried to call Michael Mann. No luck. The answers I kept getting was that the producers had sold the rights to Fox, who at this time would not release the original. I have been told that studios sometimes keep the originals for second releases in the future. That's about all I could determine.

Hi Ros,

Thanks for your reply! Maybe we should bombard Fox with some letters! How I would love to see the three hour version!!One more question: was the love scene between Alice and Uncas included?

Thanks again,

Rebecca
