: While the script as originally written would have, indeed, been sexier than the final cut, it certainly would not have been more romantic, in my mind. I, for one, just love the way their love looks & feels as it stands in the finished film...both tender and tragic.

: In fact, I think everything about this film is perfect as is. I wouldn't want to see a single thing changed. But then I am a bonafide Mohican Maniac, and, therefore, extremely prejudiced! ;o)

::About the shirts I noticed that Uncas changes his shirt twice in the film:
at the beginning he wears a green shirt,at the first attack he wears a marroon-red one and changes once more at the fort with the green one;but never does Hawkeye.Uncas is certainly cleaner than Hawkeye! achch...
