Joe,

To your IT SUX list, I would add the book "Song of the Mohicans". It is appropriately included in Bantam Books' library of Paperbacks for the Literarily Challenged. It amazes me how many attempts have been made to write stories or make movies based on the Leatherstocking Tales, and how few come even close to what Cooper had in mind. Nonetheless, I still think the value of the continuing efforts is in the joy and imaginative involvement for everyone in playing with the characters and the stories. Whether the movies and literary sequels are valid or not is not really the point, I guess. Die-hard Cooper traditionalist as I am, I love the way people are still fascinated with his concepts.
