Don't worry about offending the Cooperphiles. Ol' twig-snapping Cooper had his down side, and translation into a coherent film takes a lot of imagination, directing and acting interpretation to make his stories work When somebody CAN make them work, as Mann & company did, they more than deserve recognition for it, and I think they were stiffed in this case.
