Well, there's always the scene in Cameron's cabin, when Hawkeye thrusts the Cameron's son at Uncas, and states that they are going to Kain-tuck-ee to find a Delaware woman for Uncas who will tell him "You are the One!" and bear him many children! I always liked the joking between them then, and the way Uncas laughs when Hawkeye tells the British soldier "I don't call myself subject to much at all!" Then they just give each other a glance & take off to play the game...it seemed to me that throughout all of the scenes at the Cameron's, we were seeing that they were close, and enjoyed joking with each other.

Then, when Hawkeye is arrested in the night, he tells Chingachgook & Uncas, flat out (as we say down here), that he loves them both. And, of course, when Hawkeye runs out from the cleft in the rock, and sees Uncas falling to his death...there's such anguish on his face and in his voice, as he cries out "UNCAS!" Only the look of pain and rage on Chingachgook's face as he races after Magua surpasses it.

I have always felt that the brothers had a very strong bond with each other, and with their father. It is one of the things I really love about the story.
