: eric schweig. i've been reading the interview and was struck by how centered he is.
Yes, it appears he is. We had heard SO many stories, read disturbing (to me) interviews ... it was quite a pleasant surprise to hear him in such good shape. By his own frequent admissions, it wasn't always so. We were VERY pleased to "meet" him. A great guy! I was struck, too, by his connection to kids. He's not a parent, but said some things that I could definitely feel.
: in LOTM, i thought that the DDL and madeline stowe romance lacked something, like the chemistry wasn't all there. eric and jodhi on the other hand, without words managed to convey a passion that soars. why is this so?
Here, I must disagree with you. Though I thought Eric & Jodhi May did a VERY admirable job with what they had to work with, I can really, REALLY feel the passion between DDL & Stowe. At the Burial Ground, at Cameron's Cabin, actually, even before all that, at the River Walk ... but, especially in the Fort, in the surgery (probably my FAVORITE Cora moment!), of course, The Kiss, "The whole world's on fire, isn't it?" ... then, at Massacre Valley (maybe it's the music??), Under the Falls, and finally at the Huron Village. Uncas & Alice just don't have the chance to compete with the likes of that!
: finally, many thanks to rich and elaine for keeping this web site alive! i deeply appreciate that you take the time to help me in my search.
