I personally liked Uncas and Alice's love story - Now to be sure, Cora and Hawkeye have a great thing going and they survived, but Uncas died for Alice - the story was all in the background, but we were all aware of it and that was powerful.
I just wish he would have been smarter and waited for his father and Hawkeye at the very end. That scene always gets to me - esp. right after I watch the movie, like I did tonight.
