Hi, Joy.

Glad you agree it might be worth the effort to try to convince them to release a director's cut. To my mind, it would be perfectly okay for it to become a 3-hour film (or more!)...hey, Gone With the Wind wasn't "too long"...Dances With Wolves wasn't "too long"!! At the very least, I'd like to see a re-release of the original film to theatres. It IS heartbreaking to hear others here say they've never seen the film in a theatre!!! There is no experience to equal it.

[You said: "That would help "fill in a few blanks" like the fort arrival."]

Kiki mentioned this too. What, specifically? I don't know why, but this particular scene hasn't been a question mark for me.

["I can't help but wonder how many other scenes may have been cut, such as Duncan's diversion for the courier that was added back in for the network broadcast."]

Yes, agreed.

["If we were to contact Fox, we should copy Michael Mann - I think he would be rather flattered, given the painstaking effort he made researching, writing, directing and producing this film"]

Most definitely.

["...without a doubt one of the best historical action/adventure/romance films of all time!"]

Agreed, wholeheartedly!

Maybe I'll start drafting a letter. Anyone have any input they'd like to offer? You can email me directly.

Love,
Myrrh
