: So far we've mentioned a number of incidents in the film where sound was used exceptionally well, either in the engineering of it, or in the creativity of what was put in. To wit: the elk bugles during the elk hunt; a hawk cries overhead as Uncas looks at the devastation in the Camerons' cabin; the sheets billow and snap in the wind as Cora and Duncan sit talking in the field; we hear the mechanics of the rifle working in the courier scene, like rifle is right next to OUR ear!

: Anyone care to add to this list? Other than the general overall high quality of sound in this film, are there specific moments of sound that impress you?

How about the Bullets zipping by Duncan as he stumbles to his feet by the river?
