Joe...I noticed large wet patches on the back of Hawkeye's buckskins as he is walking into the fort, and he looked partly wet to me, too, in those following scenes. I always thought it was just a long enough hike/fight/scramble up the hill to have dried out partway by the time they got there. However...!! I must ask...I can't help it...BRAINTANNED buckskins?? Just exactly what/whose brains are used in *this* process??? (My father used to threaten to "tan" my hide, and my brother tried to "brain" me regularly...guess they could have combined their efforts and started a Drip-dry Buckskin Factory!) Inquiring minds wanna know...!
