Soldier #2's explanation seems to indicate another great scene that was filmed and didn't make the final cut. More evidence for the need of a DIRECTOR'S CUT!! (If Costner can get away with a 4-hour laserdisc version of Dances With Wolves, surely 3 hours of Mohicans is not too much to ask!!)
