Edward Blatchford played Lt. William Wallace Cooke in "Son of the Morning Star." Cooke was the adjutant of the US 7th Cavalry. He was no relation to General Custer. After Cooke was killed is one of his long dundrearies was "scalped" off his face by a Cheyennne named Wooden Leg.

Blatchford also played Principal Belding's irresponible brother, Rod, in one episode of the TV show "Saved by the Bell." I have seen him in TV commercials recently
