Hi, Lynne...I would LOVE to see what Senstivity Training would have done to Hawkeye...makes me laugh just to think of it. But, actually, I have to say I agree with Mary & Rich. Hawkeye was drawn to Cora by her courage, right from the get-go. He would never be less than 100% honest with her, and I don't think she would have expected otherwise, or appreciated it, either. She was a realist through and through, and needed to know exactly what to be prepared for. The fact that he told her they would either kill her or take her north to Huron land was surely in her mind once they had survived the first few moments of Magua's arrival. She could be reasonably sure that the three of them would at least live to reach the Huron village, since they weren't killed outright, and that meant there was hope for a rescue.
