Well said... I have rarely seen such an eloquent and comprehensive assessment of LOTM. Yes, its objective was popular entertainment, and in that, Mann certainly suceeded. He did, however, intentionally or not, spark a greater interest in the French and Indian War/ colonial era; for that, as well, I'd applaud his efforts.
