: This weekend "Saving Private Ryan" opens in theaters around the country. From all reviews, it will be an unbelievable cinema experience. As Jo posted on July 16, Capt. Dale Dye was the film's senior military advisor, hence Eric and Tom Hanks have plenty of military stories to chew the fat over if they ever get a chance to meet (although I would willingly go through the paces that Eric did if it meant I could meet Matt Damon, hubba hubba!)

: In all seriousness, I know Eric and the rest of the cast members of LOTM worked very hard to authentically bring the movie to life. In an article I was reading about "Saving Private Ryan" Vin Diesel, one of the actors commented about Capt. Dye. He stated, "Dye wears strings around his wrist, a string for each soldier that died under his command. On the last day of boot camp, Dye said 'You give me the chance to pay back these men that died - you redeem their lives.' And we were in tears. When you have somebody open up like that, you take it very seriously." It's understandable then why Eric and the rest of the LOTM military crew worked so hard for Capt. Dye.

: I'd like to hear from the rest of you, and especially Eric, as to what you think of "Saving Private Ryan". As a side note to Rich, doesn't this somewhat tie in with LOTM? (Please say yes ; )!) Enjoy the weekend.

:So Dye is one in the same? He also prepared the troops in LOTM, didn't he? I thought so. I saw him on The View Friday with Hanks, Sizemore and the rest of the cast and wandered if it was the same Dye who trained the LOTM troops.
