: Although the movie didn't dwell on Hawkeye's background, the Leatherstocking Tales gave a lot of clues to his life beyond the actual five books. He did have a sister, but I've gone on the assumption that the death of his parents and sister had something to do with his being "raised" by the Delawares. On the other hand, a late review of "The Deerslayer" got me to thinking that there was the implication of a connection with the Hutter family I hadn't picked up on before. There well might be cousins, after all.

: CALLING REBECCA - PLEASE COME IN ON THIS IF YOU HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH THE DEERSLAYER YET. WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Hi Gayle,

I am still not completely through the book, but of course I know the ending.. Yes, it was Hetty Hutter who was implying that Deerslayer and the Hutter family are related. However it isn't quite clear in which way...

I don't quite remember your question regarding Judith Hutter anymore.Soooo, please ask me again..

Rebecca
