: : : : : : : : : I've heard some of you mention a THX version (I hope I have that right!)- What is it and does it have extra features not included in the VHS video version? If somebody wouldn't mind giving me the scoop please.

: : : : : : : : Hi, JC...as Caitlin mentioned, the THX version IS the wide-screen version, but there's MORE! It also has better sound, and a couple of nice goodies in the package...1) a featurette on The Making of the Last of the Mohicans and 2) the theatrical trailer. My advice?? Get it! It's great!

: : : : : : : I just bought a LOTM stereo VHS version called the Premiere Series...but the thing that confused me was that it was widescreen..which wasn't even mentioned on the box..And i asked myself if they switched the THX version video into the premiere version box, but the video has no interview or trailer....Are all the LOTM videos widescreen? hmmmm.....

: : : : : : :I have both versions too. I didn't realize that the premiere series version (which I bought a couple of weeks ago) was also widescreen. Is there a regular scren version of LOTM on video?
: : : : : : myte

: : : : : I don't think they do have a regular screen version of the movie...Cuz usually, they have to edit it from the orginal version when they release it on video...What I'd like 2 see though is the one roe saw..the three hour long one.....

: : : : Not surprising, but I'm confused. It sounds as though there is no definitive way to tell which version one has, or does the box say what we need to know?

: : : : Also, what is the 3 hour version and how can we all get one? That sounds the THE version to have!!

: : : : Thanks,

: : : Oh my bad...the three hour long was one that roe saw in the movie theaters..the premovie..i don't think they have one out in video...I think the max they got in one hour and fifty four minutes..that's how long the one i have lasts....the premiere series...

: : Jenny -- see my posting about the THX version at the top of the page. I was somewhat disappointed in THX only because the "pan & scan" of the "regular" version means close-upshots, which I prefer -- the widescreen view means everything (esp. people) are not close up and not as well-defined. I hope that makes sense. It's kind of hard to describe.

: yeah..i understand...it's just that my video was a premiere version...and it didn't say it was widescreen..yet when i saw it came out wide screen...i guess i'll try to get thx this time..

I was disappointed that the Premier Series was a letterbox version. Not only does it not state that it is widescreen on the package, but near the bottom of the box, on the back, it clearly states that the film has been modified to fit your screen. To me that means full screen. I bought mine at Blockbuster, and they would not give a refund. So I have an extra copy, which is not the worst thing, since I'll probably need an extra when my first one breaks from overuse. My husband claims both versions are available through one of our video clubs, but I haven't found the full screen version yet in the catalog.
