Hi Ann,

There so many lines I either didn't understand the first time, because of the sound, or just plain made me wonder.

I always wondered why Hawkeye said "go North and turn left" to get to Can-tuck-ee. Now, I assumed that was an old-time reference to the general area of Kentucky. I realize these areas were not states, only territories and encompassed larger areas than the states they eventually became. My general ignorance of the geography of that time may be behind my lack of understanding of that particular line. But, I do know the Hudson River is nowhere near Kentucky. So I would go south, rather than north to get there.

The other line that I wondered about was "Your wounded should try walking on back to Albany". They all looked dead to me.
