Hey, Mary, you Non-ignorant Scooger, you!

: The posts about DD-L's beefing up for the role reminded
: me of a funny interview he did when he was promoting
: "In The Name of the Father." He told the interviewer
: his Mohican muscles disappeared in about a week and
: a half, and that when he was filming "Father" ladies on
: the streets of Dublin would come up to him and smack
: him in the chest and scream things like "Where'd they
: go??? Where'd all those lovely chest muscles go to,
: you miserable skinny little b*****d???!!!"

I read some similar remarks he made about his muscles just dropping off...lucky for me I love skinny men! (Witness my hubby, The Lean Machine!) I think DDL looks just as beautiful rapier thin as he does in his more beefed up roles. Actually, he's beefed up ALMOST a little too much for my tastes in The Boxer. The chest is back, but hairier, and his face looks heavier, by far, than in any other role I've seen him in. Maybe Rebecca has turned out to be a good cook!? But beefy or not, he still has those incredibly intense eyes, and that wonderful smile, and that remarkable ability to make every character he plays utterly convincing in every respect. And you should see him working out in the ring and jumping rope. Very impressive!

Someone asked last week about The Boxer...Ann, maybe?...have you seen it yet? I'd be interested in hearing some other opinions of this movie.
