: : MMMMarcia, your slates are mmmmarvelous!!...enjoyed your LOTM page as well....wonderful photos....I noticed you chose those of DDL at his hunkiest:o).....my 7 yr old niece was watching as your "blessed are purr of heart" kitty slate was coming in and she said to tell you that's her favorite(since she has her own feline named Nala).

: : Re the tourist path NOT -- I just assumed the final scene was filmed where Uncas died.

: Hi, Ann! Thanks for your kind words. Hope you enjoyed looking around, and saw the Gathering pics, too. The spot where the final scene was filmed is unbelievably beautiful, and as you probably noticed from my page, I owe the entire wonderful experience to Soldier #2, my "adopted white son!" If Eric hadn't been there to encourage/PUSH me up that hill, I'd never have made it. It was wonderful, and I hope to get up there next year under my own steam. Maybe you'll be along to share in the adventure!

Mountain-climbing MMMMarcia:o)

The view from LOTM final scene location is breath-taking. It reminds me of "Hawk Mountain"--about 10 mi from here. If you're ever in PA, check it out -- it's well-known among bird watchers. Volunteers from the area, sit along the mountain edge every day counting hawks, an occasional eagle & other birds of prey as they fly by(as they have for thousands of years). The vista is spectacular as well.

As a matter of fact, I'll be on the No. Carolina coast next wk for our annual seashore vacation. We've worked our way down the Atlantic coast, evading crowds & pollution, eventually making our destination just south of the outter banks. Have been to Disneyworld a couple times....last time was in '96 when one of hubby's pics was on display at the Kodak Pavillion(had to see it with our own eyes).

My husband's hobby is photography. Our book shelves are stuffed with photo albums(about 25, so far). He always enjoys scouting(my very own Hawkeye:o)out a new location with his camera(rather than a musket)...therefore, it shouldn't be too difficult to convince him to join your Gathering one of these years. As far as '99, two trips have been in the works for a long time for that year, so don't know if time will permit another....will work on it though...sounds like great fun. If not '99 - 2000 for sure.

take care, ann
