: I'm working my way thru the script and I was amused by the following director's note:....just read the scene where Cora defends Hawkeye to her father & Duncan....the latter replies to her "you are defending him because you've become infatuated with him". Then the Director's note: (Cora is having her intelligence written off as a hormone attack.)...Michael Mann has a subtle sense of humor...where do I find a poster of him:o)

: The next script note Mann writes, I find poetic -- the "kiss" has just taken place and Mann's comment about is: "In the night before doomsday a romance is born in rebellion amid the huddled people in this small stockade ripped from the black earth of the forests of a wild continent."

: If Michael Mann does not create another historical epic during his directorial career.....it will be a great loss for the movie-going public.
