: I guess I should have said that after they are pulled from the hide (by the way, was cleaned, salted then dried) the quills are clipped and washed in warm water with Dawn dishwashing soap and a little bleach before they are dyed. They are very clean. By putting 1 or 2 in your mouth at a time, you don`t have to worry about having a bunch of soggy quills when you finish. I read that warm saliva does soften them quicker.
Dear Dedicated & Authentic One (alias Clabair):
Oh, good! I had visions of you coming down with the dreaded "Don't Eat The Road Kill" disease...scourge of the south! ;o)
I'm very happy to know before you stick a pointy porky quill in your mouth it has been properly sanitized! But just the same, think I'll stick to iron on transfers to decorate my t-shirts! However, (howsomever?) I really like your outfit and enjoyed your post about how it came together! You've been a real treat to "meet" here on the board! Can't wait to hear more of your adventures!
