: : Greetings!

: : I've been watching your site for quite some time, being a fervent LOTM fan myself. What a fun group! Just wish I knew some of the stories behind the comments I read.

: : Although I think DDL and Eric are fantastic, they're too young for me, so I fixated on Maurice Roeves. (Do you have to keep referring to him as "the Greyhair?") Anyhow, he is really a nice guy with a great sense of humor. I chat with him on the phone occasionally (marvelous voice, especially listening to him in the dark) and mentioned what I'd read about him on this site. He would like it to be known that he did not require 30 takes for "that scene" and he has never let "drink" interfere with his work. Otherwise, he was pleased with your interest.

: : I do enjoy your site. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

: : Davenie

: Davenie -- I second, third, and fourth everything that's been said. I too feel I know the man from something (Masterpiece Theater? whaaaaaaaat?) and would love to know more about the actor, including how you know him.

: As for yourself -- SO glad you quit lurking and finally piped up. Join the fun!! Hope to hear more from you.

: Cheers,
: Sarah

I thought this was truly a great movie. I am originally from Mcdowell county and was living there during the filming.
The only bad thing is that they tore down the fort in the middle of Lake James. That could have been a great tourist attraction.
I was in the class of 1987 from Mcdowell High and am trying to get in touch with classmates also. please reply.
