: : I never noticed this..and this may sound really stupid, but my friend noticed that Hawkeye's eye twitches in the Cameron Cabin Death Scene(when he is talking to Cora, who angrily scolds him for not burying the Cameron's remains). Really funny twitch though, you have to admit...i couldn't stop laughing...

: Hi Jenny,
: Yes, there is a "wonderfully" angry, hurt, and determined eye twitch as Hawkeye is facing Cora saying "They are not strangers and they stay as they lay!". You could see it so clearly in the theater that you could almost feel it. I thought it was GREAT! Who am I kidding here?? I think everything Hawkeye did in LOTM was GREAT!

I cannot agree with you MORE! DDL is a GOD! The infamous "twitch" just shows me how imursed DDL becomes in his characters; in mind, body, and emotional spirit. It's the little human gestures, reactions, "twitches" that fine actors can bring to a film. It is too often that you see actors "reaching" for emotion...it looks contrite, overdone...

But not with DDL!!! Somehow he finds that place within himself where these emotions really live..and he brings Hawkeye to LIFE for us all.

I am mad about DDL.

My regards, Diane
