: Hello!

: Have just recently discovered this wonderful site and have spent countless hours delving into all the cyber-gems present here. If only some of my other favorite films had Websites half as good as this one..

: LOTM is indeed one of my favorite films, especially since it introduced me to such impressive {if lesser known to US audiences} actors like Steven Waddington, Jodhi May and Pete Posthelwaite {yes, Pete's 20 seconds of glory here caught my eye, :)} LOTM's deft assembly of adventure, romance, tragedy and drama always serves as a welcome respite from the more-often-than-not brain dead offerings from Hollywood.

: With all the goodies availble at this site, it took me a while to get to the Message boards and even longer to get thru the bulk of them but it was well worth the time. Clearly you folks have developed a very solid online community here and I'm a bit tentative as a newcomer to dip my toe in but here it goes..

: I'm glad to see that some posts here confirmed that there was indeed a BBC LOTM series. I belive I saw it run on my local PBS station, oh...I can't recall when. Does anyone know if the series is availible on tape? Being but a lad when I saw it, I can recall next to nothing about the cast or production, aside from the typical BBC "film the exteriors, tape the interiors" method. Would be interested to here opinions on it from anyone who has seen it.

: Sheesh, I've rambled on like a ranker whose broken into the regimental rum stocks! Well, let me just say thanks to the authors of this site for their brilliant work and my good wishes to all those LOTM devotees here. I hope to return often.

: Best Wishes

: Bruce

Hi Bruce, and welcome!

Isn't this amazing? There is SO much here, so much hard work and good study has gone into the site. I found it only a few months ago and haven't read it all yet! The more I read, the more I want to read, and all this history has got me buying books to learn more.

People here are devoted not only to the movie but to the books (except a couple of people just don't feel compelled to slog through Cooper!), the actors, the film site, the music, the real historic site, and the history of the Indians. But aside from the value of the education, it IS fun here.

We hope you stay and put in your two-cents worth.

Cheers,
Sarah
