: : I'm contemplating a trip to upstate NY, into Natty-Bumpo land or Cooper-land, maybe even as far as the Forts, to see glorious Fall Foliage and have some nice walks/hikes. Maybe at the beginning of October, for a two- or three-day weekend. My cat Jake has declined to accompany me, and there's simply no point in my even asking my cat Samantha. Anyone interested in joining me? Requirements: must be able to talk LOTM ad nauseum (and other things, of course, but no one I know wants to explore LOTM as I do, which is why I want to go up there), and must enjoy walking and must enjoy the splendors of Fall Foliage in Upstate NY.  I figure it's all about 3-4 hours from my home.

: You're tearing my heart out.  This is something I have been wanting so badly to do that I can taste it.  Being a native of Upstate NY, as well as loving the works of Cooper, it has always meant a great deal to me to walk the ground where all that history actually occured, and the beauty of it all in Autumn is even more if an irresistible temptation.
