: : One thing; this last comment of yours ... "You will get what is yours too." This can be taken as a sincere intention. However, I can't help but to think this is a subtle threat? Promise of justice a la Dutchie? You know, get what's coming to you! Pay back? Reproach? Blood vengeance?

: : Please reassure that you are on the level here, DT.

: Trusty E. Lane,

: My, you are putting salt on everything today aren't you? No suspicious meaning there. All I meant is you will get your chocolats and Delftware soon. I have set aside the finest in both categories for my oldest trading partner. I apologize for the delay, however, one must set priorities in this trading business right? Nothing personal of course....

: Looking forward to future business,

Greetings Dutch Sailor, I mean, Trader ...

Salt on everything, you say? Not at all. I am trying to see this in a positive light. However, my long time Trading Partner from across the SALTY SEA starts sending dispatches to other traders in regards to goods intended for me, then says "you'll get yours", and I am to shrug this off as merely friendly relations and good commerce practice? Ah, Dutchie of the Salty Sea, but I am no fool! Whatever is offered elsewhere is less for me, no? And I must wait as if I am merely a common citizen to boot? Something is amiss ....

And how is it your YOUNGER trading acquaintances have successfully managed to get you to do their bidding? Are you losing sight of your duty? Have you no will? Or have they got the GOODS on you? Could this be extortion? Blackmail? Does make one wonder ...

However, in honor of our long time arrangement, and dare I say, friendship, I'll allow you time to make good your word. If the Delftware and the Chocolat arrive at port before the harvest moon (or is it Halve Maan?), then I'll question your intentions and dealings no more. If my ship does not come in, well ... we may have real trouble in the colony.

By the way, I overheard your public exchange with that charlatan soothsayer, Mdme. Claire Voyant. I don't believe the wench has ever heard of a Dutch Oven. If she had, she wouldn't have tried that pear & partridge pie scam on you. (I think she was plagiarizing from the King's four and twenty blackbirds pie.)

I too look forward to the continuation of our booming Trade agreement. The Mohicanland citizenry are getting low on their supplies and will be wanting necessaries.

Sincerely,

E. Lane
