I really enjoyed seeing LOTM in the theater for the first time, and meeting Ayesha and her husband. It was as if my perspective "zoomed out" from the story of Hawkeye and Cora to 1757 colonial America. I could see the mountains and forests more clearly and so I felt transported to the time and place more completely than I ever had before. I saw two children at the Cameron's cabin (previously I'd only noticed one) and a crowd of men playing lacrosse. And I saw Mr. Phelps' face! And noticed just how very angry Hawkeye got when Cora indignantly pronounced judgement over him for leaving the Cameron bodies unburied. The film had a new depth for me. I still didn't see a few things I was looking for, though - the blue cap, the sleeping bag, and Colm Meaney - I saw his name in the credits, but missed him on the screen. Was he there? I'm soooo glad I finally got the see LOTM on a big screen. It made a world of difference.
