Hi Everyone!

The accompanying chart demonstrates, in a basic way, the percentages, by State, of buyers of our "On The Trail ..." booklet. In a very unscientific way, this MAY translate into percentages of Visitors. Just thought you might like a peek ... . Not too surprisingly, North Carolina (the film's location) and New York (the film's setting), rank #'s 1 & 2 as the individual State leaders. But, what about Ohio?!? Where's YOUR State rank? Sorry for the jumble of names ... we'll list the percentages below:

California - 6.9, Colorado - 1.6, Florida - 4.8, Georgia - 4.2, Illinois - 4.2, Indiana - 1.6, Maryland - 3.7, Massachusetts - 3.2, New Jersey - 2.6, New York - 8.9, North Carolina - 13.2, Ohio - 7.4, Pennsylvania - 5.8, South Carolina - 3.2, Tennessee - 2.6, Texas - 3.2, Virginia - 3.7, Other States - 12.1, Foreign Countries - 6.3

Thankfully, the Director's Cut letters are beginning to arrive in somewhat larger numbers. Great Letters! Keep 'em coming! We need SO many. Please encourage friends who might not be connected to the Internet to write also. Proud to say, 1998 Gathering Attendees account for about 50% of the letters, so far. Can't emphasize enough that we need huge amounts of letters. Please mail them in!

Regarding the NEXT Gathering ... those of you who were down here in June know that there was talk of the River Walk location, which is on private property, being bought up by the State of North Carolina and becoming part of a State Forest. Unfortunately, the corporation that owns 3 of the waterfalls that can be seen in the film held on to 2 of them. Consequently, the River Walk REMAINS private! One of the falls (Hooker Mills - canoes are seen going over them) WAS transferred to the State. The Forest is now open to the public. Directions to these falls can now be found on our "More On The Guide Book & Locations" Page. Anyway, unless we can make special arrangements -and that's not yet out of the question - the River Walk location will NOT be a part of next year's "tour".

We are VERY envious of our Bay Area contingent's opportunity to see LOTM on the BIG SCREEN last night... Congrats!

New on the Site ... finally able to offer Sound Clips to you via download! Many have asked; now you CAN! They're easy to download ... directions might vary slightly from those given, depending on your Browser. Hopefully, we'll have some more for you down the road. Also, on the Director's Cut page we added, as suggested by somebody a few months ago, a direct link to the 20th Century Fox feed back form. We urge you to use it IN ADDITION to your letters.

Till next time ...
