: : : In the film there is a piece of music called The Kiss. It is playing when they are chasing the indians near the end. Anyway, does anyone know where I can download the full version of this music without having to buy the whole soundtrack?

: : : Thanks

: : Tom,

: : "The Kiss" is actually two themes together: it starts with the solo fiddle playing The Gael and is joined by the orchestra playing the main theme of "The Kiss". The music in the scene you mentioned near the end is called "The Promontory"; it too begins with The Gael played by fiddles and a lute in unison (having begun with the ominous drumbeat) and they are then joined by the main theme, which is called, rather unoriginally, "Main Title".

: : I suspect what you are really after is The Gael written by Dougie MacLean -- it is that Celtic piece that I call the Theme of Life (because it plays at the fort as life amidst the war when a few people are trying to dance a reel at the fort and when Cora and Hawkeye meet to kiss; and again when Uncas is racing to save Alice's life and when Chingachgook is racing to avenge Uncas'). I too have been trying to find it. My research took me to the URL below but my inquiry got a negative answer about its general availability and the response (from someone there in the UK) suggested which Dougie MacLaen CDs I should buy! If you have better luck (although I suspect it was written for this movie) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!

: : Good luck,

: I have been corrected -- thank god, as this helps me as well as everyone else -- and have been told the Gael is available on CD:

: "The one you want is called The Search, and The Gael is cut
: #6. The whole thing is music written for the Loch Ness Monster Exhibit in Drumnadrochit. I found my copy of this CD at a great CD shop in Austin (Texas) called Waterloo Records, but you might contact The Celtic Trader at 1-800-822-2420, and see if they can help you find a copy."

: From an anonymous source.

: Cheers,
: sarah

"The Search" is available from amazon.com -- the price is $12.99
on CD, and they say they'll ship it in 2 - 3 days.
