: On a side note, how was the Perfect Storm? I am really looking forward to that movie, because I read the book, and I thought it was really heartbreaking... I don't think it will hit Europe before the Fall, so.... Is it as good as the book?

: Warm regards to all of you!

Ilse: It's a very hard movie to describe. Movies are never as satisfying as the book, but with that aside, this is certainly one worth seeing on two levels. The first being the tragedy of the story itself and the glimpse of an American way of life that has rarely been exposed. Gloucester is beautiful, and you have a whole new respect regarding where that swordfish came from. The second is the art of moviemaking itself that's taken to a level where you truely feel the reality of their situation. The special effects make Titanic look like child's play, and both of my sons started experiencing motion sickness. You're on that boat with them, and by the end you feel as though you've met the true forces of nature head on. It's an exhausting movie to watch, but I'd recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the sea, and the people who make their living from it; or, those that are interested in a movie that gives you something beyond the usual summer fare.
