: : Ilse: It's a very hard movie to describe. Movies are never as satisfying as the book, but with that aside, this is certainly one worth seeing on two levels. The first being the tragedy of the story itself and the glimpse of an American way of life that has rarely been exposed. Gloucester is beautiful, and you have a whole new respect regarding where that swordfish came from. The second is the art of moviemaking itself that's taken to a level where you truely feel the reality of their situation. The special effects make Titanic look like child's play, and both of my sons started experiencing motion sickness. You're on that boat with them, and by the end you feel as though you've met the true forces of nature head on. It's an exhausting movie to watch, but I'd recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the sea, and the people who make their living from it; or, those that are interested in a movie that gives you something beyond the usual summer fare.

: Thanks Nightsky!

: I am looking forward to seeing it! Too bad, though, there is no way a happy ending can be invented to this story, right?

You do find yourself sitting there hoping he'll break the rules, but he stays true to the story and breaks your heart. Enjoy. People are such incredible creatures. NS
