Glad to see you got your nomenclature correct, GATLainey! I laughed right out loud when I read it.
Seriously, SSS is useless up here. I think it attracts them. Off helps a little, Cutters is better, but Muskol is the Cadillac of insect repellents. If you can tolerate them, bug shirts or head nets are great. However, in the heat down there, you may not be able to stand them. I've never tried Citronella (sp?). Where do you find it? I'm willing to try anything. (Unfortunately my Hawkeye didn't save any bear grease from his last bear.)
