Uncas at the Fort

I have been lurking here for awhile and think that this board is great. However, this is the first time that I have posted. I have a question that I hope one of you good people can answer for me. There is a scene at the fort where Cora is applying a bandange around Uncas. When/where did he get injured? Do we assume that he's been running around with an open wound since the ambush at George Road?
