They both spoke the King's English (actually Queen's today, more on that below) and not one word could be understood because of so many idioms, slang, etc. which peppered their talk. Go to different places in England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland.....the same speech patterns???....NO...all different dialects!!!

: I am not a proponent of Ebonics...no way!! But, our American culture is rich with the different dialects of Americanese, the same as all other cultures are rich with their dialects.
