: : I happened to be channel-surfing this evening, trying to get myself to stop watching true crime shows on Discovery even though I'm by myself in a big house...and guess what? LOTM was on TNT again. So I watched. VERY carefully. And yep, ladies, the bikini line needed a waxin'. Perhaps someone should send Hawkeye a vat of my aunt Aggie's special Scottish Beeswax-N-Thistle-Down Bikini Line Insty-Peel. Just what's needed when you're wearin' a breechcloth AND your skin needs to be silky smooth...

: Hmmmmmmm...guess that shoots down my theory that they dipped the TERRIBLY furry DDL in a 55-gallon drum of Nair to produce the smooth chest & arms that appear in LOTM. And this is, it goes without saying, the FIRST time this has been brought to my attention, on account of how *I* would never, EVER slow down my video during the crucial moment just to check that out for MYSELF. Never. Ever. No, really. HONEST! (That tear in the weakened tape at just that spot is totally a coincidence!!)

Oh my, they wouldn't have used Nair! Too unauthentic. They could have plucked his chest hair like they did to Nathaniel in "Into the Wilderness," but I don't even think Mr. King of the Method Actors would accept that! No, I think perhaps they might have tried a better method...one time-honored and traditional. Why, they might have used Aunt Aggie's Special Luxurious Scottish Beeswax-N-Thistle-Down Smooth Laddie Rubdown. Secret recipe sent down through the ages. And the key, of course,is it must be applied slllooowwwllyyy...by a female attendant....in sofffftt..slowwwwwww....rubbbbing....motions. Works best if the male rub-eee is prone on a bearskin. And it takes hours....
(okay, it's a fantasy, they probably used Nair...but Aunt Aggie's method seems much better to me...)
