Hello! My dear cousin, so glad to see you at last! Am so sorry for the delay in meeting you, my dear Mamselle Eclair, I tripped over this darned trampoline outside my parlour window......but that is another story.

I am so sorry to hear that Mamselle Eclairs House of Ooh-La-la has had to close temporarily for fumigation - but I did warn you about allowing that tourist party from Scotland to set up camp....ah well, at least I will have the pleasure of your company for a while. And perhaps you can help liven up business. It has been rather quiet at the House of Hoo-Haa recently - Sheriff Benton has been kept busy with a most unfortunate Act of God at Miss Marcia's house (or so he says), the French Trader has been away from town on urgent personal business although the word is, that he should be returning to the fold quite soon - visits from a French scoundrel should be a pleasant reminder of home. And then of course, there is Dweebie, but I feel that he might just be overwhelmed by the sight of your new scarlet petticoat, so tread carefully. You will find out about Billy Gnome soon enough, but I suggest you close your bedroom shutters at dusk, as he has just purchased a brand new super-duper trampoline from some passing Taiwanese trader, and may now be able to reach the window. He also has developed some rather strange (and worrying) rash......you have been warned. If it were not for regular visits from the rather dashing Turkish Trader - business would really be in trouble.

Anyway, ma chere Eclair, welcome to Mohicanland. It is a pleasure to welcome you here and I hope that you will stay awhile - perhaps we could go down to Bumppo's tonight for a glass of peach brandy or two, and you can meet some of the folk. How does that sound? It does get a bit rowdy some nights - but nothing that you are not used to.

Right, I had better go and paint my face if we are going out on the town tonight.....and you had better fetch a shawl......those backless, strapless, sideless blouses may be all the rage in Paris, but you will feel the chill here.

Au revoir my dear cousin, for now.

Miss Lucie Lastick, The Yengeese Strumpet
