Yes, produce an actual indian from that era. I will then go and find a white colonist from that era and strong arm the blaggard into coughing up some dough. But I have just as much right to be here as any modern day Indian. I was born on this continent, I have lived here all my life, and have never set foot on any other continent than North America. I have never taken anyone's land, owned a slave, nor voted for any law which restricts the rights of minorities. (in fact my ancestors were staunch abolitionists, one of them served jail time for hiding fugative slaves in the 1850's) So why should I have to pay for something I did not do, to distant descendants of victims just because my skin is white?
I suspect your question was posed to play devil's advocate, but I just wanted to get my two cents in.
