: : I'm constantly amazed at the things I've missed in LOTM, especially given the numerous times I've watched it (lost count at this point). I've been slowly reading the archives and keep coming across references to scenes in the movie that I overlooked. Naturally, I then have to watch the movie again to see what I missed. Last night it was the scene in the cave where Uncas rushes to take Alice's hand to help her down to the cave floor. Totally missed that! At this rate, I'm going to have to buy a new copy of the video, because my current one is going to wear out! I'd just like to add that I'm sooooo glad that I've found this site and all the great folks who are just as crazy about LOTM as I am. (Some of my friends think I'm a few bricks short of a full load when it comes to this movie!)

: Ok, I know I should have made the coffee stronger this morning...I can't even spell my name right..Jeeri?? ((shudder))

Jeri,

Before Gathering, I was more of a MohicanLand fan than an LOTM fan. Watching the film with everyone at the theater in June, was an experience I still can't put into words. I was stunned at the effect it had on me. It's one of those things that just can't happen anywhere else. I hope you get the opportunity view the film with with all the folks you have come to love in MohicanLand.

Like you, I have viewed the movie several times, and I still find things that I have missed. For instance, Elaine referred to a line from LOTM in a post to me sometime before Gathering. "Better a tangled web than cold indifference." This post made NO sense to me at the time. When I got home from Gathering and watched the movie, the words "cold indifference" fairly screamed at me. *I* fairly screamed, "Cold indifference! I get it, I get it!" I thought my family was going to have me committed. Duh, duh, duh!

Another fun thing I've been doing with the DVD, is viewing it frame by frame on the computer. It's the ONLY way to see how all the costumes are put together, etc.. Pausing on shots of Duncan smiling is a hoot, too. He looks like a totally different character when he smiles.

So, put on another pot of coffee, Jeri, and let's watch it again! Maybe, we can spot the tread on Uncas' moccasins.
