from the research and interviews i read. there was a love scene that was shot on film and cut from the final film version. what i found out was that Daniel Day Lewis was upset that too much of Eric's incredible face was in so many scenes and he was the lead actor. Eric's presence was cut down a lot to beef up Lewis' character. Funny thing, no matter how much they cut out...we still all came out of that movie wanting to know who the brother was and not nearly as much attention was on Lewis.
If I remember correctly, I called the studio to find out about a director's cut (fyi, already released and not as good as the film release version) with the scenes left out. It was either someone there that told me the scoop or someone who talked to Eric's manager on a constant basis...
Problem is...without those scenes between Eric and Jodhi May it makes her sacrifice at the end not as believable. From what we saw, when did they have a chance to fall in love??? Those scenes need to be put back in or at least should have been included on the DVD release of Mohicans as Deleted Scenes...
