Well, we held our LOTM Film Night last night and it was a resounding success with everyone having a great time and really enjoying watching the movie. It was a girls night only and there's just something about a room full of women, especially considering we were watching a lot of gorgeous men in loin cloths! Of course the Bailey's, wine and a concoction of something called Mudslides could have had something to do with it!

Watching the movie on a 64 in TV was amazing. I was able to see so much more than I can on my home TV, especially things like the rocks that move when Hawkeye pushes against them in his race to save Uncas. I never could see that blooper on my TV.

Needless to say, the room was split as to who was the best 'hottie', Hawkeye or Uncas. The final tally was 3 for Hawkeye, 2 for Uncas and 1 for Magua (me). My daughter who's usually very hard to impress was amazed by the number of 'stud muffins' in the movie, especially the ones in the loin cloths!

I acted as tour guide, answering questions as well as instructing my daughter when to pause or slow advance the video to see the bloopers, especially the blue cap scene. One shot paused was the now infamous shot of Hawkeye's tumble in the Huron village. Marcia..if you think the DVD picture was great, you should see it on a 64 inch TV screen! One of my friends tried, unsuccessfully, to cover her 15 yr old granddaughter's eyes! In deference to her age, we didn't pause it long, but boy oh boy!!

It was an evening filled with fun, laughter and good natured teasing, usually directed at me as the resident LOTM maniac. We had so much fun that we're going to make it a regular event, with a different person choosing the movie. Next up is the long version of Dances With Wolves.
